Girl Scout 97th Birthday Party

March 12, 1912 was the first Girl Scout meeting. And to celebrate this event Annika's Daisy troop held a birthday party. We invited other Girl Scouts to celebrate with us, decorated cupcakes, made friendship bracelets, and collected birthday cake makings for a wonderful organization I found that provides Birthday Surprises to children in need!

Funny story, but I had the idea to collect the cake and frosting mix a week or so before the meeting. I was going to donate it to our local food bank. Then, a few days before the actual meeting I read a newspaper article about this organization that provides cake, ice cream, decorations, and gifts. It was a perfect match for my idea!!
The Girl Scouts had loads of fun, and we collected at least 50 boxes of cake mix! Go Troop 1661!
