Ladybug Invasion

I was sitting at the computer when I heard a little tapping noise on the window. I looked up and there were about 50 ladybugs on the windows. A swarm! I turned around and most were gone. Huh, how weird.

Fast forward a few hours, the girls had just returned from school, and Lauren ran downstairs (because she always goes up and reads right away) saying there were a ton of ladybugs flying around her bedroom window.

Sure enough, they were back. I sent Annika out with our camera to take some photos of them on our deck. They weren't as thick there, but still ...

I've never seen anything like that before. The bad thing, however, they come inside. And unfortunately these are the invasive, Asian species. They stink. And they'll bite if you grab them.

Still, it was rather cool to watch.
