This is a bit morbid, but hey, it is our family! Today we dug the grave for Mulligan. He is going down fast. He has not eaten in 3 days. When he does eat he throws up. He is really quiet and lethargic. And, we noticed that there is some blood pooling in his eyes again. It is time.

This is all so very sad! I will miss my beloved beasty so very much. Annoying habits and all.

Mulligan usually loves to dig in fresh dirt. If we ever have a clump of dirt from weeding, he begins to dig near the dirt smell. So, yes, he did help us dig the grave some. some. He was not so full of energy. He was very interested, but his prefered spot was on the ground next to us.

The girls were very excited to help dig, and to use Annika's little shovel she received for her birthday a few years ago. It is the perfect size for the kids. It did not take too long to dig the hole with everyone's help.
Soon we were done, and tommorow we will fill it with the most wonderful dog I've had the privileged of sharing my life with. Can't see right now. Tears. Sobs. Wish I could make him healthy again.
