What you do on a rainy Saturday

It rained all day today. Alllll day. (Like over 3 inches of rain in our Sprocket the Toad rain gauge)So, what did we do? Well ....

Bill and Annika made pancakes for breakfast.

But not just a small batch, they made the Leaning Pancake Tower!

The girls and I learned how to play chess.

What you don't see are the pictures of Lauren playing many games all afternoon long. And Lauren playing chess on the computer. She was really into it!

We watched the pool collect water and made inventions to drain out the excess water.

Bill's syphon

Lauren & Annika's Pumpkin Rain Catcher with rope to haul out and stay dry

Improvements were made upon the original contraption

and then more improvements were made.

Oh, and if you're Mulligan you sit between the garden and the bean-tepee and bark.

(don't you love how puny our garden is this year? It has been so cold that nothing is growing. August 8th and look at how little the beans have filled in!)
