The highlights? Well, we did go to some of the educational shows. The girls learned a good bit about birds of prey (did ya hear that Brad?) and especially native MI birds of prey. Annika has been pretty fascinated by parrots lately, and they have a parrot (and I forgot what species) that is an educational bird that Annika was rather fascinated by.
Lauren was chosen to go up and help with the bird of prey show. They needed someone to demonstrate how an owl's head rotates compared to a human's head. She was excited to be chosen and to be so close to an owl.
The best part? When she finally reached the lion display, she put the map up to the cage and proceeded to point to the lion's spot on the map and said, "Lion, you are here!"
At the end of the day, Bill's company always has a big raffle/drawing for prizes. Some of the prizes are pretty good, too. Bill has won something every year; this year he won a volleyball net for our yard. We have had a good time with it so far! It is not high quality, but works for us. The kids also receive a goodie bag full of trinkets and trash. The highlight of the kids items?
The calculator!
