Lauren and Annika decided to fly their plastic grocery bag kites this evening. Lauren made her kite 4 years ago in preschool, yet she still has it! Annika has lost hers, but we were able to remake it. (Just barely, as I have very few lying around the house now that I have been religiously using my own bags.) Lauren eventually got the idea to make parachutes out of the kite, and let it drop off the deck.
After figuring out that she needed more weight, she ran inside and attached Barbara and Abby (their favorite, and smallest, dolls) to make parachutes and take their dolls for a spin. They carefully tied some yard to a bag and to their dolls.
After a few quick tests to be sure their dolls would indeed float, they decided to really test their inventions off the back of our deck.
