I thought I'd finally share the Freeing of Butterflies. (sounds like a festival event!) We set free four of the five butterflies, and still have one remaining butterfly. This butterfly would not fly away, and I noticed that one of its antenna was broken off, so I thought the humane and responsible thing would be to keep it. I was worried about how it would survive in the wild with only one antenna.
And right in the middle of all this butterfly fun, a hummingbird came to our feeder! We do not have many hummingbirds come to feed, so this was quite a treat. Plus, we were sitting very close to the feeder (me, a 6yr old, and a 5yr old - not a quiet, calm group!) and he stayed for a good full minute.
