Some Free Time

The girls had some fun unstressed time this break. It was nice for them and me. One day they came downstairs in some old Halloween costumes (Roo and Lumpy from Pooh Bear) and spent the day playing in their old costumes.

Later that day I brought out a new pencil sharpener. It was an old fashioned hand crank kind to replace the 5th electric one - they just keep breaking so I went old school.

The kids, literally, spent about 45 minutes or more sharpening pencils. And when they were not sharpening them, they were playing with them. Apparently pencils are also good toys. Wow - my plan is working ... my kids do not need elaborate toys to keep them occupied and entertained. Even *I* was amazed at how long they were entertained by pencils and a sharpener. Anyone out there need pencils sharpened? he he

And one day I was summoned into the Oval Office to see the Animal Art. Someone, in a blue dress with a red ribbon tied around the waist but shall remain nameless, was imitating her younger sister's play from a year ago.

And through all of this play, the weather was crappy! Look at the ice on the window!! Grandma was here during all of this, but due to weather and illness, this is what we did. Poor Grandma, kinda like sitting around watching the paint dry. Or watching the fish swim in the tank, which we did for long periods too. Again, how exciting.

(On the dress-up and pencil sharpen day, Grandma and Bill went out together for some son-mother bonding time. Our lazy crazy day at home meant Grandma did not miss much on the home front! Want to travel across the country to watch pencils being sharpened?!?)
